National community center "Consciousness - 1928"

In 1928, a group of enthusiastic progressive youth under the leadership of Krum Velkov, whose father was a railway worker, started the community center in the village called "Conscience". The first chairman is Zori Mitev Atanasov. An active activity begins to recruit members, give parties, plays, caroling. A collection of funds for the purchase of books begins. Books, a cupboard, a table and a few chairs were bought and thus the community library was started. In 1933, the community center was legalized with 25 decares of land. From its processing, the community center collects funds for its maintenance and expansion of its cultural and educational activities. There was no special community building yet. In 1936, the new school was opened with two classrooms, one of which was adapted for a community hall with a specially made stationary stage. Decorations are made. There is already a curtain with the painted face of Hr. Botev. 100 pcs were also purchased. chairs. In 1944, Dimitar Kostov's room was rented for a community center, and the library of the community center was placed there and opened as a cafe with Sabi Arnaudov in charge.

During the day it sells tea, coffee, sweets, and in the evening it is used as a public university. Talks are held every evening. With a great struggle on the part of the population, in 1945 the community center acquired its own courtyard for the construction of a community center building. In 1957, the construction of the community center began with incredible work.

On September 9, 1962, the new community center building was opened. A new era begins in the life of the new community center.

Community center "Consciousness - 1928" became the center of the socio-political and cultural life of the village!

On September 10, the first theatrical production "The Silver Ring" by Ivan Donchev was played by the local theater group.

On December 9, 1978, the 50th anniversary of the community center was celebrated, which was awarded with the order "Cyril and Methodius" II degree. With the changes in 1989, community center "Consciousness-1928" ended its rich activity. Under the current conditions, the community center turned to artistic self-activity.

The community center was founded:

Women's folklore group "Khankrum Nightingale" and culinary group "Khankrum Cooks".

An Authentic Folklore Group was founded at the "Detelina" retirement club, created in 2003. It recreates the "Troshanka" and "Sedyanka" customs characteristic of the village.

Primary school

As early as 1873, the more alert villagers from the village of Krumovo, Preslavsko managed to open a Bulgarian school with joint efforts. Classes are held in private homes. Ivan was the first teacher. After two years, a classroom with a shed and an office were built. Hristo Yordanov, Minho Marinchev, Marin Zhekov, Anastas Stoyanov, Dimitar Haralanov, Stanyu Gramatikov, Alexander Chiflikchiev and others teach here. The first female teacher was Raina Kostova, who worked until 1911. The school continues to be housed in the same building, to which a new room was added.

In 1922, an incomplete junior high school course was opened. A few years later, with the active support of the school board, whose chairman is Georgi Alexiev, a new school building was built. During the teaching of Evtimiya Stefanova from Jumaya, flowers and fruit trees were planted in the yard. In 1924, during the administration of Tsankov, the junior high school was closed. Only the original school remains.

The increase in the number of children necessitates the need for a new school building. Again, with voluntary work, the preparation of building materials begins. A place for the school is determined in the northern part of the village. Construction began under the leadership of Simeon Peychev, master builder. Hristinka Panayotova from Shumen continues to teach here. The classes are combined, but the training takes place in the morning and in the afternoon. Long-time teachers are Simo Vladimirov, Zhivka Semerdzhieva, Dimitar Petrov, Darinka Doncheva, Todor Kavrakov (director).

Since 1939, with the arrival of the teacher Simo Vladimirov, with the help of parents and students, the school yard has been planted with fruit trees.

In 1940, the planting of 120 trees continued. The school yard became a well-kept orchard, pleasing the eyes of passers-by. "In the spring, the garden bloomed in white, and in the autumn, the red apples, which gathered the Krumov sun and the aroma of the earth, lowered their foreheads. During the break, the students on duty gave out crunchy, juicy apples to their friends for breakfast." These apples also brought income to the school. From these apples, Simo Vladimirov bought a radio set for the first time in the village of Khan Krum, and the whole village went to listen to this miracle of technology in the school and the school yard.

From September 1, 1961, the Khan Krum School became a branch of the school in the village of Troitsa.

In 1971-72, a study hall was opened.

For 10 months, students and teachers in the village of Khan Krum have been preparing to celebrate the school's 100th anniversary. On November 11, 1973, the school bell called the participants to the celebration. By Decree of the State Council, the school was awarded the Order of "Cyril and Methodius" 2nd degree.

Due to a lack of children, the school is closed, but fortunately it is run by the local pensioners' club.

The first private primary school

It was established in the village of Khan Krum in 1998 with a training period of 4 years. It bears the name "Paisius Hilendarski". It is self-supporting from the sale of willow branches for baskets, from the rent of the 108 decares of school land, as well as from sponsors from the municipality of Veliki Preslav. Its director is Mihail Popzlatev. He is also the teacher of the mixed class with children from I to IV grades.

Due to the inability to provide regular financial support, the school was closed.
